I don't see an answer to Error code 1158

I know this is and old post but the reason for this error is Playonline viewer not updating to the latest version, steam had such and old crappy version that its still out of date after saying its done an update.
Steam use version 1.18.0n but the playonline veiwer from the FFXi site is 1.18.0p and after that one updates I got 1.18.13a so steam is some how blocking the update{/quote}

I think that .n version was the one that was not updating properly. Might need to download the POL installer from SE, but make it install into the Steam directory (provided it gives you the option to designate an install path somethow).
