or make it work like invisible + sneak
or make it work like invisible + sneak
iirc, Hide is a sight based tactic...so it would stand to reason that if you move a sound detecting mob might still aggro you. It can also fail on mobs that aggro low HP if you are low enough HP. If it's breaking on a sight only mob, that is an issue you should probably file a complete bug report on. Unless, this is just another troll thread...

Hide is just awful it should be 10x better than Sneak/Invis or Camouflage.
Actually Camouflage sucks too, make them both better SE.
While hidden the Thieve's next attack should do 50% more damage, not trolling, seriously.
Hide is the stupidest ability on the planet.

Hide has limitations but it is definitely a great JA already. The ability to completely deagro from sight mobs is great (although limited). I use it often in dynamis while hunting TE solo. Easier to pull in a crowd as long as there are no pet mobs, knowing that after quickly killing the statue, I can hide to escape the rest.
I agree with the idea that Hide works on only sight-based mobs, but at least make it so that Hide has no chance of failure (i.e 100% success) on said mobs and even notorious monsters (that are not true-sight). It's ridiculous to me that there it has a random chance at all, granted there are ways to seemingly increase this probability. Same goes with Camouflage. I personally like getting into a fight with the assurance that if I run into trouble, I can get out of it reliably.![]()
Im confused by OP. You can move freely while hidden just like your invisible. I dont even know what your asking for.
Also there is no 'chance of failure'. There is no randomness to hide in the slightest. It works on any and all mobs that track by sight. Period. Not sight aggro, sight tracking. You can hide from skellys if you HP is white even though they are sound aggro etc. Hide has 1 rule: If mob tracks you via sight, it works. The end.
Are people that confused on how hide works?
It's not actually the end of the world if you're fighting stuff that tracks by scent/sound if you carry some deodorizers and silent oils. When you want to drop agro, hit flee, get a good distance behind you, find somewhere safe, pop the 2 meds and hit hide. = win
OP is a troll. They are using the class rogue with their ability to sneak and hide as reference for this suggestion. In other MMOs that deploy this, a rogue that uses hide without using sneak will cause hide to break. I'm not aware of it in any game but EQ but I'm sure it exists elsewhere as EQ has like 35346265 copycats.
Or: Horde means hide doesn't work on scent mobs and when they attack you it breaks. Shrug. Who fricking knows with him.

Only time Hide ever "breaks" is if the mob aggros to sound, tracks by scent, or has true sight from what I know. At least that is the only time I've noted that when using hide it fails. Other than this the JA works well. However, it would be nice that if you weren't the focus of hate (top of list) on mobs that it normally "breaks" on that you could still use it, but I'm sure that would be just too much work to recode.
