I've helped many new and returning players, and the first question returning players say to me is, where did everyone go. It's been asked so many times that when someone new says to me, "hi, can I ask you a question", that by default I say to them, "you wanna know where everyone in the dunes went? Try gusgen mines, people dont xp in the dunes anymore" and then I proceed to update them on GOV, abyssea, etc.
This is extremely sadding, and it also crys out to mismanagement of content. How could nobody see that this would happen with the easy xp from abyssea, and even now with the obvious results the impact has made and no fixes are being imployed to get people to re-enter old zones. There should be an xp bonus to people in a party of six or less outside abyssea, and the FOV books in the old xp zones should give increased xp.
The worst that can happen is soloist/dualist can benifit, the best that can happen is a return to low level players re-using these zones in six man parties, the way they were meant to be. You'd still have GOV book burning, but there would be a new push to also do xp the old way if this or some other fix were made.
I dont see them doing anything about this, they really do not care one bit about this game. It's funny, because they are considering revamping it, and exporting it to a new platform, but just because people pay to play it they think it doesnt need much fixing. Yet all the 76+ content made a huge portion of the game unbalanced and outdated. I really think this whole thing was done sloppy and hastely, just to get money and with no real consideration from the players feelings involved.
All the upgrades to level cap should have been done with an across the board revamp at the same time, and not this short sightedness that continuely is being pumped out by 11 now, and 14 orginally.
