Japan Before and After, had a friend in the relief effort for Japan send me this

Hello everyone, i had a good friend send me this link and i thought i would share it with you all. Yes some might have seen it and some possibly have not but these are before and after pictures of many places that got hit the worst.

Not posting this to upset anyone but more of an understanding. It bothers me that everyday i see new posts about when the game will have the servers restored, yes i miss playing and yes i will be happy when the servers are back up. But i for one had never seen these pictures, they are not full of gore but pictures from over head mainly cities, some of the power plants.

We all wish our brother and sisters in japan the best.

If i posted this in the wrong area then by all means move it where it belongs.

yeah.. saw some similar pics in split view on NHK. Just overwhelming when you see the complete devestation over there. Someone found a house floating in the Pacific--still fully intact...just floating in the middle of the ocean. I can't help it when I see all the QQ about the servers not coming back up fast enough for some people...hard not to rage on them...

    Perspective... |Do you need it?|

this is why you dont build civilization or large manufacturing companies, or anything near large bodies of water, in an area that is susceptable to natural disasters

Does this answer your question as to why we've not received an update? -.-; ... I really hope there aren't any more threads like that ofter seeing these slides... Yes I know SE servers aren't located here... but #1 check the power plant out... and #2 how many relatives do you think live in any of those houses from the other slides? Truly tragic

Yea Mord lets have a whole civilization thats been around for over a thousand years just pack up and ditch their island so you can play a game. Seriously man get a grip, go to detox or something. They are dealing with major stuff there and your comments are useless. Oh and heres a hint- CA is just as susceptible to earthquakes and such as Japan. Or did we somehow forgot that with our short attention spans?

A drunk man's words are a sober man's thoughts. Here is a game most of you can handle.

its crap like this that blows my mind...... i got an idea, lets build a civilization where real life doesnt matter where nothing will ever happen to prevent people aka the REAL human race from playing an effin video game.

Dont know if you have thought about it much but, many of the People you have played with live in this so called Civilization of what you speak of. Been friends with them for years, granted ive never met them in RL but they are still friends....... now picture your friends in the game we all love to play..... and could be one of the houses in those pictures..... they have nothing left what happens when you log on when the servers come back up and friends that you HAD no longer log on.

I love FFXI i always have ever since it released in NA made great friends from all over the world and right now i dont care how long it takes to get the servers up i just hope my friends that are going through things we have Nightmares about are ok. Show some respect people..... please.

    1. Areas near large bodies of water, though susceptible to natural disasters, thrived historically. The best examples of this are Britain and continental Europe. Access to bodies of water initially served farming and fishing purposes (Hello agriculture and hunting+gathering). As globalization emerged and marine power became important, these locations remained important despite the setbacks.

    2. Nuclear plants use large amounts of water. In the US, we have large bodies of water (Lakes) inland that we can take advantage of (Ending with preposition). I'm uncertain on Japan's geography, but I recall it being internally mountainous and lacking of similar bodies of water.

This isn't an off topic forum. It's for FFXI general discussion. Powerful pictures, but not for these boards.
