It infuriates me because you're probably absolutely right.

Wouldn't be shocked if for every dollar we're paying towards FFXI, four goes to FFXIV.

Not really, for every dollar we're paying towards FFXI, maybe three cents goes to FFXIV. SE is a big company with a whole ton of open projects in several different types of media. FFXIV is just one of those projects and very little of what we're paying is likely contributing to FFXIV at all, and this will be even less true once billing commences in a week or so.

Yeah, their not spending it on FFXIV. Their spending it on developing other successful games and then taking the money they make from those and spending it on FFXIV . It's totally different.

Honestly, any money you give to them goes to everything they do. Can't really get upset with it. Its how business works.

Not necessarily. We can actually go to the Square Enix Corporate Website and read the annual report to investors. It more than likely will actually list how money is being allocated to specific projects, and also where that money is coming from.

In the end though, does it really matter? They are still taking money that you willingly give them and use it on what they want.

It would be like me going "man, I really hate the grocery part of Wal-Mart but I like to buy my games there. The money I give them for games better only go toward the electronics department to carry more games I want!"

So if say HBO just stopped using your subscription fees to license new movies, and make new shows, and decided to spend it on say an oil line through kuwaite, you would be ok with seeing the same shitty shows for all eternity?

Considering HBO has nothing to do with oil companies, your argument makes no sense.
