They are not so much changing it as they are adding to it.

The 'changes' are more like differences when comparing to the old one.
But I agree, the old one could use quite a few changes, but what comes to the 3 character minimum, they once said they are not planning on changing that as the rewards are geared towards three to six characters, what ever it is that this means...
