Update never finishes

My update seriously just wont finish, it never times out, I get no error, I can stay on for 8 hours in the same spot, ive done multiple resets, and numerous other things including everything SE wants like ports, ect ect.. nothing..

Okay so I did it this way, ran the file check, clicked repair and it did the same damn thing. Froze at 89% on the Downloading Latest version data... wtf...

Is this file every update? so If i un-install and re-install and just do the copy paste stuff, It would be up to date?

It doesn't, ironically, have this latest update though since the guy who maintains it can't log in til next week.


P.S. I would highly recommend you don't reinstall, it's a pain in the ass even if you have all the updates pre downloaded.

Did using the first download i provided decrease the amount of stuff the client said you needed to download? for example when i installed the files in that link, i only had to download 9 files from the SE updater. took less than 1 minute. if it hangs for you on a specific file, you may have some sort of damge (missing files or possible hard drive failure)

I edited in some stuff above, but lemme ask: is it always freezing trying to download a specific file?

well the first time I started the download it was going fine but I had to leave for work, I got the typical error timed out blah blah, so i started it again.. now it wont make it to any of the files the .dat or anything its stuck on the downloading latest version bar.. like the one that normally takes 2 seconds before it preps the files

Before the repair disk it says there were problems found in 1141 files, is that high or about right before the repair.. which like I said doesn't go through.

I don't know what the repair actually does, but 1141 does indeed sound like a lot @_@.

Haven you done anything wierd lately? like dat swaps or anything like that? Have you recently installed the test server? Anything wierd happen with your registry perhaps? Any viruses? Anything strange at all?
