if u were on ceberus u would get it from a lot from what i have seen
People just need to assess their party's strength and weakness and adjust your strategy accordingly. Just like the pre-nerf'ed CoP. There's no single winning strategy that will work for everyone/every party. You really need to look at the various strategies out there and adopt them to what the players you have in your party (not just for job but the strength and weakness of each of your actual players).
I won with: SMN (PD to start), 1x MNK, 1x PUP, 1x NIN, 1x RDM, 1x WHM. Used 2 items (2nd by accident). We have 1 Emp (NIN) and no other one has Emp/Relic/Mythic. It can be done if you plan accordingly and adj based on what you have. For example, our RDM originally was going to be a BLM but skill wasn't capped so we switched to RDM as backup healer/lighter-nuker (chance of need for chainspell nuke). WHM was originally going to be 2nd MNK but PUP's WHM wan't geared/skilled. So we adjust there. NIN originally was to be PLD but we rather have more damage since we already have PD to start along with items. Only MNK die after PD wore off. WHM there to cure bomb after PD and RDM there to add dmg with Nukes and Debuf and backup heal. PUP's pet was setup as BLM nuker. SMN used Garuda and PClaw whenever it's up (~1k per BP). [note: Wind Blade was only doing ~300 dmg though and 5/5 on merit on Wind Blade but do not remember what the day was].
Good Luck everyone!
Great Job to the morons in the dev. department 95 thf been farming for 5 hours now on it+ mobs and not 1 Frigune stone has drop
This is probably the most SCH-friendly fight I've ever seen, with the damage cap.
Perp+Accession Embrava, Phalanx, Enspell, and throw some tails.
tandava crackows + chocobo jig + animated flourish = prouesse ring
wyatt try the turtles or worms in gustav we were about 1/3 for stones did over half our ls in couple hours would been faster if it wasnt for the 500 other people down there as well...
the drops for fang was more around 1/30 i would guess
the bone in the tree was about 1/10 for us
Something to add, if you go the route of getting the items that weaken him, which many seem to do, make sure you have damage dealers that do damage either by chasing the mob or from ranged. On melee once he starts running around it is hard to hit him and definitely cannot weapon skill him until he stops. Of course soon as he stops he will one shot someone.
So Smn, Rng and BLM seem best for this. I was thinking about this last night, Smn obviously can chase mob and do BP while moving, so can Puppet, and being that hate is not an issue when he is running around Rng/Sam could probably spam 4-5. Build 200 tp while PD is up and mnk is doing his 2 hour. Then use item, WS, WS, barrage, WS, Meditate, WS, Wing, WS.
1/3 on item in Onzozo on Skeletons then went to Rang. Pass to do a LS farm for everyone else. Went into the fight without enfeeble items with a Paladin without o-chain, not sure of Aegis we were being rushed; 2 BST, RDM, WHM and SMN. Don't believe either of us BST had PDT axes, I know I didn't but GooeyGerard sponged quite a few hits for the PLD and so did the other BST's Gerard. Me and other BST melee'd with the pets and PLD and snarled enmity to pets and our PLD dropped to 200 HP once but didn't die. RDM chainspelled to cure him back up quickly, no one else used a 2hr. Was pretty easy and laid-back for us but maybe we just got lucky on his WS choices. 1/1
Drop rate is straight-up Low. No real way around this. I got my items from DCs in Dangruf, for whatever that's worth, but it took a while.
Shellmates of mine are 0/3 without having yet used a tail; we'll be going again tonight. They are NOT in good gear by any means (PLD has an 85 Almace; most of the rest is a mix of a few +2 AF3, mostly +1s, and some APT) and went with a mishmash of semi-optimal jobs (RDM and SCH healing), but only wiped once. They timed out twice due to low damage; they forgot about/didn't really understand the damage cap and did stuff like have somebody go SAM rather than THF and let a BLU use Heavy Strike (97 damage boyeeee). The SCH did not use TR>Embrava, and I don't think it occurred to them to use enspells. Yeah, they weren't prepared at all. Even with that, their time-outs were at 9% and 1%.
It doesn't really seem that bad, honestly. Use dual-wield jobs for damage whenever possible, focus on multihit WS, and above all pick your jobs and build your strategy around available two-hours. WHM might be a straight-up better healer, but if you've already got one healer in the group and you have the choice between going as WHM and a competent healer with a stronger two-hour like SCH or SMN, the latter's going to be way more useful.
