Remember at the last limit break, when some people needed to farm rare/ex items, and a huge hissy fit was thrown because of the competition for those items (such as Magicked Skulls), then like a week later the mobs that drop them were plentiful and uncamped?

Look, they have never revealed the way to get anything, but the playerbase always figures this stuff out quickly and it becomes common knowledge.

Figure I'll just pool the info I have so far.

To be honest it doesn't seem like anyone is certain what the specific conditions for a mob to drop the stone are. A lot of people are saying 95+, but I hear reports of DC+, too, and Maat's language suggests EP+. At any rate, the one thing I can say for sure is that higher-level mobs have a MUCH higher chance to drop it than lower ones (assuming lower ones do indeed drop it), which seems consistent with SE's goal of staggering access to the BC among the playerbase.

Once you get your stone, unless you are or have access to a well-heeled Ochain PLD with a WHM and another healer backing them (maybe even a SMN for PD, too), Atori is probably going to plow you. There isn't really a way to out-play the amount of damage he's capable of doing; Hundred Fists will wipe the non-PDed DDs of a group in like 10 seconds.

The easier version comes from farming up another stone as well as a Fossilized Fang and Fossilized Bone (these drop from the same mobs as the stone) and trading all three of these to Degenhard. He'll give you a Rarab Tail (seriously) that, when used in the fight, will cause Atori to run around Psychoanima-style for a minute or two, then resume fighting with what I am gathering are lower stats and no Regain (people are reporting him taking more damage, doing less, and WSing much less post-tail). This weakened state is relative, however, and I am not getting the impression that the easier version will be particularly easy for most players, either.

It's too soon for any info on whether you can use multiple tails in a fight and, if you can, if the weakening effects stack. If they do, I imagine most people are going to need multiple tails to have a reasonable shot at clearing the BC. This isn't necessarily a problem; consider getting a tail to be your due diligence. Also, since it sounds like the tail functions like a Psychoanima (at least for a few minutes), unless he's REALLY weak to gravity a tail strategy will heavily favor ranged/pet classes over melee.

If you lose, you can re-access the fight by giving one merit or 5 HKCs to some NPC or another that I can't be bothered to double check right now (probably Nomad Moogle?), but you'll need to farm up the mats for another Rarab Tail if you're going that route.

In a week, everything will be crystal clear. I think until then I'm just going to play like the cap is still 95

so saying the other two tiems drop from the same mob as the stone, means that those two items also can drop from EVERYTHING that cons ep+ to a 95?

I don't know. I'm at work. I am only reporting info I've seen, and that info supports the conclusion that the fossilized items drop from the same mobs as seasoning stone, whatever those mobs may be.
