Fishing + cooking is the only profitable craft left. If they make it easy it will destroy it. Last thing we need is every herpderp on the server putting up food for 50% of the going price so "mine sells first".
Yeah it might help the buyer in the short term but derps won't keep the AH supplied, they'll just make whatever is selling high that week and then loose interest after they crash it. Meanwhile the career crafters won't bother making it at all because they know a derp will come along and ruin it. So you end up with no food available on the AH.

This is false, most crafts are hugely profitable, smithing, leathercraft, goldsmithing, clothcraft these crafts make far more money than fishing and cooking. I make 50-70 mil gil per month from my three lvl 100 crafts. Remember synergy is an extension of your main craft, you cant make lvl 90 stats rings without having a veteran goldsmithing skill. Crafting is the most profitable way to make gil now in this game by far, I know this VERY well as I am the best crafter on the Bismark server.
Crafting should not be easier, you should have to grind through all your lvl just like the rest of us. Tanaka is back so easy mode is off, crafting is one of my biggest joys in this game and once you hit lvl 100 in your craft, its one of the best feelings of accomplishment one can have. After that, now its time too start your synergy, and once that's skilled your can make major gil
