I understand the SE stand on DRK. They want the job to cast magic. I suppose kind of like being just behind a warrior in melee DPS but magic being the equalizing factor for balance. It sounds great and would work great just as soon as the job gets magic worth the effort of casting. You can't sit there at your SE HQ, drinking your coffee and eating your morning whatever is the JP version of a breakfast hotpocket, telling yourself and everyone else you want DRK to use magic and then not give DRK anything worthwhile to cast. Absorb stuff is great. It just needs a massive boost. If what we have is what we're supposed to use to even the playing field then by God boost the spells. Mainly stuff like Absorb STR. What about absorbing 300 STR. Extreme example but you get the point. If DRK is to use spells regularly then give us a good reason to do it, and not just tell us to because that's the role of the job and don't ask any questions. Just cast alot so entropy is useful. It doesn't matter that in the time it takes to cast Thunder III and do the damage of Thunder III that you could have swung again and dealt more damage. Just use magic because DRK has it. It's like a warrior but with magic. How cool is that?
If they don't want to give DRK what it needs to be a damage dealer then just turn it into it's EQ equivalent the shadow knight. Give it top notch sword and shield skill and feign death. Feign death would be so eff'n cool in FFXI. If only it worked in RL, though. Be useful for woman aggro. Particularly when you're trying to get your game on and they conveniently decide they need attention. Although I'm not sure how I'd feel if I FD in real life and the girl walks away okay with me being "dead" and all. Be like, hmmm I wonder if she's making a B line for my will, dammit.
Anywho, I mean why not do it, it doesn't seem like DRK is ever going to catch a break ever since they went around KC'ing AV down. It's like people hurt their feelings when they abuse the KC with BW+SE so now we just get the middle finger on everything. So just turn it into a tank job. PLD could use back up and we need to move away from ninja shadow tanking anyway. It's made the game too damn easy.
I'm being serious right now. It makes no difference whatsoever whether they keep DRK as it is or flat out turn it into another tank job or any job for that matter. Because both = the same thing: Not giving DRK the tools to keep up with other damage dealers. Let's be real here. Outside of Kraken clubs the DRK job has been weak for a very long time now. It can do great damage but JA timers are it's grim reaper. Maybe with a new role for it to play people can find a different love for DRK because it sure as hell is never going to be treated properly as a damage dealer if entropy isn't an attempt at trolling. Like my suggestion or not but at this point I done gave up on the DRK job. I'll level it to keep it up to date for the KC for whenever I can snake my way to a KC zerg where it's still useful but that's about it. I'm a fan of KC zergs. I'll use it long before yet more empy spamming because it's so rare to use these days. So sue me. Or QQ to Miss Cleo. Or whatever you need to do to sleep at night. I support you -110% which is about in line with VW drop rates.

Regular "John" Doe - Not on the Community Team
The 3DS is not a "shoddy product." However, they did fail to meet many of their original claims initially, mostly about the library of games avialable within the launch window (month after release). But the main problem was simply the price. As soon as they dropped the price, the system sold. The games weren't bad, the system isn't bad, but people were put off by a few things:
1) price
2) System naming gave consumers impression that it was just another remodel of the DS with some tweaks, not nintendo's next generation portable with upgraded hardware and dedicated games not compatible with the previous system.
3) Launch library of games was missing several key titles due to delays including the earthquake in Japan.
Why are you talking about a Nintendo product on a Square Enix forum? just saying![]()
To the real topic: OMGWAI!? If this doesn't affirm SE's pure unadulterated hatred of DRK I don't know what will...
Greetings, everyone!
Thank you for voicing your opinions about the Entropy ability. I have made sure to move the thread from "General Discussion" to the more specific "Dark Knight" forum, so that this discussion may continue. That being said, please try to remain on the topic of Entropy. You may continue to voice your comments in this thread, but only if the posts remain constructive. Otherwise, this thread will have to be closed. Thanks again for your participation!
With any other product and company you might be right but this is a 8+ year old MMORPG that is hemorrhaging it's player base, and has been for the last 4-5 years. Couple that with the fact that FFXI is one of the few reliable sources of income for SE and yes, people who complain and quit will definitely "cut into the company's bottom line".
o_o they're reading? QUICK GUYS! SAY CONSTRUCTIVE THINGS TO IMPROVE ENTROPY! OKGO!
I say may the mods both INT and STR as well as make the fTP>1 for all hits(1.25 each hit at 100tp? 1 would be good in my book, but for the 99cap game no less than 1.25 each hit is necessary). Also, if the SE team find it in their hearts to finally add the dark icing to the devil's food cake, make it crit ^_^
Here's hoping that they actually read. BE POSITIVE EVERYONE! just kinda proved they are reading.
