Might want to poke around in your routing options if you can to make sure you have the port forwarding setup for FFXI. You might be missing some of the pushed data from the SE servers that take place in the background. High packet loss on the connection can cause some of this too--loose enough of the "heartbeat" from the servers and they think you've lost connection and your session times out.

Wireless can be prone to all kinds of potential issues for games. Might want to look into having them do some QA testing on your connection or something to see if there is high packet loss. Compound that with the high round-trip times for SE servers (sometimes over 250 ms, or 1/4 a second--an eternity for computers), you could be simply getting the boot from SE because they think they've lost your connection.

You might be able to sniff around with some free services to get a hint if there is indeed a potential problem with your connection.
