Non-existent pvp content, needs the be addressed asap

I wonder what will they do with the pvp department on this game, is almost non-existent, ballista is no real pvp, very dead content that not even people from my server almost/ never participate anymore(used to be the best ballista server) .

They should do pvp scenarios or pve(like many other mmos), pvp is dead on ffxi because ballista is a fixed "event"and because they did not bothered updating or improving pvp content on this game,you can't really pvp unless a ballista slot is reserved,(brenner /Diorama Abdhaljs-Ghelsba) most of those reserved ballista slots ends up being empty/making other people to wait another hour to reserve to pvp), also need to wait 1 real day or several hours for (cap 30, 40,60,uncaped ballista) event,that's so dull and antique/poorly executed,

So ffxi doesn't really have pvp mode, it's just a very limited fixed game "event" that have been forgotten/ignored, there is a huge ffxi pvp community on the game that is disabled atm because the almost non/existent pvp content on this game, pvp modes plays a huge important roles on mmorpgs, they will never catch up with other future mmorpgs if they keep doing these weird stuff, I hope this get read by the development team, sorry for my bad grammar.

My ideas:
1. add a "duel" button on the main menu to fight 1 person outside towns with a count down to start the battle , if one of the hostile players runs very far away , duel mode gets cancelled.

2. add a hostile button mode, you will be aggressive to any other players that are flagged as hostile mode as well (this is only outside towns)

3.pvp or pve scenarios, for example retrieve an item for a longer period of time to win, the person attacked/dead with that item will lose the item and will be took by the other team or gets dropped down to the floor to be obtained

you have no right to tell anyone what to go do, stop being mad and telling everyone who wants pvp-type content to go play another game. You don't speak for everyone.

i guess this is really one of the oldest stuff in FFXI which didn got the attention from the DEV team and it is really time to get a major FIX for Ballista so people can enjoy it

Balliasta was nothing more then a sad attempt by SE to try and compete with WoW, it's only and only compettitor. At it's height, it was nothing more then a passing fad and after which, it was dropped like the dead weight that it is.

If you don't like pvp content on ffxi just don't participate on pvp stuff, THAT SIMPLE, stop QQing, the reason of why ballista/pvp is dead on this game is because ppl is tired of this crappy pvp system that SE did not even bothered to keep updating, but i'm very sure that it will be revived and a lot of people will participate if they do, almost everyone loves to pvp on games,

I don't think you are qualified to post on this thread, you obviously don't know anything about ballista on this game, you can't pvp at brenner, is almost impossible, need to wait several hours to do that because is always haves a reserved slot/, all games have pvp content, ffxi doesn't really have one, there is a huge community of people that like to battle other players and se doesn't even bother to fix this old content anymore, stuff like this is know why people quit this game long ago, because no pvp content, OP not being registered is not relevant, and nobody cares but you, stop it

PvP is right up there with Chocobo Racing and Evoliths on the list of things I personally don't care about.

The combat engine isn't exactly tailored for PvP and as far as I am aware there isn't any demand for PvP content aside from a select few vocal individuals scattered across multiple servers.

I would be disappointed to see the devs devote resources to PvP content when such a large portion of the rest of the game is still in such disarray.

I wish they would implement a duel option for one month. Don't bother doing anything else. Just add the option. One month later people will be begging to get rid of it because everything is horribly unbalanced because FFXI is not geared towards PVP.

Its a simple fix really. just do away with the gear swap penaltys and more endgame ppl will do it.
