I always find that when I read FFXI interviews I end up disappointed, either from lack of solid responses, or mostly not enough questions pertaining to inherent problems in the game. (IE. So what do you think about abyssea? We think it was a failure and a mistake. Oh okay cool let's move on to the next lame question.)
So I'm wondering, since these boards we're created as a means of communication between the devs and the players, if we could try to take another step in that direction. I propose that the forums should have a category for "Player Interviews" which would basically entail a thread being set up once a month or every other month in which players could ask some hard hitting questions to our developers.
Players would submit one question per post, at the end of the month the top 10 questions that have received the highest number of likes will be delivered by Camate, or one of the moogles straight to the top. Hopefully we could get answers straight from Hiromichi Tanaka, Mizuki Ito, or the other head devs. relevant to the questions we ask. This interview category should also of course be implemented to each language of the forum, because each region has different views on FFXI's direction.
At this point, most of the feedback we receive are answers to predetermine actions by the dev team. (Most responses are basically "NO" or we're putting this in the game be happy with it, if you're not we'll tell you too bad) I think a more direct approach to the devs, might give us a little more insight on why we get those "No" answers so very often.
So hopefully we can keep this thread alive so that the moogles take notice, and put it into action.
