    *Trades currency to Lootblox* (Here's your Griffon Hide) WHAT?!

    First off, yes I sent a support ticket for my item restoration. Secondly, I am aware this was of my own fault and I do not blame anybody but myself for the error.

    So I'm trading Lootblox bronzepieces and get up to 10 M. Silverpieces. Okay. Wonder if they stack into anything... I don't know, it's late and I don't think about going to wiki or asking my friends. At the very least, there'll be a menu showing what you can buy with it, right?

    "Here's your griffon hide," Lootblox says with pride as my week's hard work farming around my 50hr/week job plummets into the dusty hide of a fairy tale creature.

    No confirmation "Do you want this really? Yes/No"? Why?

    What if I had accidentally traded 99 M. Silverpieces to Lootblox instead of 100--lag or whatever? If I got 8 million gil turned into 7k in an instant without even asking me if it's what I wanted, what do you get for trading 99 million gil? Probably not something worth 99 million gil.

    Please add a "Yes/No" dialog option to trading in currency, even if it means adding one for trading 100 singles into a 100, please. It's more of an inconvenience to lose a week's work than to push up and "Yes".

    Also, the GM was very kind and said he'll try to get my currency back to me, so thank you to the GM. Support was quick and answered my questions without me having to ask them.

    Cliffnotes:
    * Don't let late-night curiosity win you over -- lose 8 million gil
    * GM service excellent
    * Lootblox is evil
    * Trading needs a dialog box

    Honestly, I think that's meant to be a trap. Goblins are shrewd business-men. Or maybe shrewd business-goblins.

    I don't know why the development team would want such a trap there, but the alternative is that they made it that way thinking it would work to someone's benefit. Then, in spite of it not working to anyone's benefit even once in well over half a decade, have never changed it to so much as accommodate a warning message.

    When I start to think about that, I can feel my brain turning into a coconut crab so that it might crack open my skull and explore the world, so I consider it a non-possibility.

    This is one of those things where you go "What the fuck were they thinking?". I cannot comprehend who thought it was a good idea to make them give you random... rewards? No, that's not it. Garbage, is what it is. For an item which was, from the start, designed to accumulate tens and hundreds of thousands of. Just mind-boggling, trying to figure out what could have posessed them to do something like that. Especially if you consider that pretty much every other trading/talking interaction with NPCs features a shocking overdose of redundant dialog options asking "Are you sure?" "Are you absolutely positive?" and "Here, let me hit you in the face with a fucking star, are you sure now?".

    All affirmations are true in some sense, false in some sense, meaningless in some sense, true and false in some sense, true and meaningless in some sense, false and meaningless in some sense, and true and false and meaningless in some sense.

    The menu of what you can buy is when you just talk to the NPC, he tells you to give him the appropriate number of peces.

    While I'm not sure what you were thinking when you traded them and thought "I wonder if they stack into anything" (Were you thinking that there are 1000 coin pieces or something?) I would have to agree that these NPCs do not follow the usual conventions for item exchange.

    However, IMO, forget a confirmation box: the item trades should be just removed entirely as every single one of them is a massive rip off. All of the items given for currency can just be found inside dynamis as a monster drop with some patience.

    I don't think a question saying "did you want to test if I'll give you anything good for all your 8 million gil?" would do anything but make you press yes and be disappointed. I believe more in the above that you shouldn't be able to trade stuff for random junk.

    I'm under the impression that it was first added as a alternative to seeking out a crafter to make it for you (As I recall, all the relic upgrade items need the "processed" version, like lancewood lumber whereas the monster drop the log). They probably greatly underestimated the amount of the crafters that were able to make them, but even then, considering how often the raw materials drop and that you can sell them on the damn AH you'd think they would've known better.

    Whatever the justification for it was, yeah, there's really no reason for it to be offered anymore.

    I recall someone posting on BG a while ago that they lost 27 100 pieces this way a while back, and the GM was unable to restore it since they had already used their one-time item restore before. There is really absolutely no reason why this goblin needs to have these shit-tier crafting item drops any more. Please just get rid of them, or bury them in a menu somewhere.

    It also makes no sense whatsoever that you aren't being asked to either: a) confirm that you actually do want to trade your currency for whatever item, or b) a menu where you get to pick the item you want (lol). Especially when you think of all the other npc dialogues/menus in this game where you need to hit yes or no a billion times before you get what you want.

    The goblins will trade you the most expensive thing they can return. So if you traded 99 silverpieces and 1 bronze piece to Lootblox, you will get a 10k gil Mammoth Tusk for 28 silver pieces. It has happened before.

    When Dynamis first came out those items were actually pretty hard to come by. Angel Skins used to sell for millions for example because they were only available as an extremely rare drop from a Devil Manta that could only be fished up at the shore in Cape Teriggan or a single pond in the depths of Kuftal Tunnel and had a 10 minute cooloff before it could be fished up again.
