    [dev1049] Entropy...smh

    SE, were tired of complaining, and I just can't sit back and watch you murder our last potential WS for scythe into the ground. This thread specifically looks and Entropy, and how to potentially adjust it for better use. We don't want this to be another Scarlet Delirium!

    First, let me state not everything about this WS is terrible. Here is a list of the positive and negative side effects of this WS, and were it currently stands.

    Positive
    • Restores MP Pool, and allows for further casting, making our MP pool useful.

    Negatives
    • Weaker damage than our level *60* WS.
    • What are we using this MP for!? Drain II's terrible recast timer? We not only have Aspir, but Aspir II! If we were running out of mp any time soon, we would use these spells more often.
    • Currently, we have no darkness based nuke. This further supports the reason we don't need to be worrying about MP. I'm not interested in "potential future updates of a spell." As it stands now, why even waste our time casting thunder III? I'm sure SD gets used more than this spell. Until we actually get a nuke worth casting, this WS is worthless.
    • We have no fast cast, no celerity, no clear mind. So not only do we have a terrible spell, but we can't even put enough power into it to make it somewhat useful.
    • Dark Knights are very WS dependent. We require the use of "POWERFUL" WS to deal the majority of our damage, due to long delays between swings. The damage from Entropy just isn't enough to make it worth using.

    All because you give us a way to regain Mp faster does NOT make it any more useful!

    We should not be out damaged by a level 60 WS, its just plain wrong.

    Ideas for Improvement
    • Increase overall damage from Entropy to match the new GS WS. Were masters at scythe for a reason, not just to stand there and look pretty.
    • As stated, I don't mind restoring MP. JUST MAKE IT SO IT'S USEFUL!

    So what improvements do you think need to be implemented?

    People are just going to say crit without thinking that life outside of abyssea exists.
    Question. Is it a gain MP or a drain MP? Not everything is aspirable.

    It's a "recover" effect, meaning you don't steal the MP from your target.

    Edit: I don't have access to the Test Server, so I can't offer any real suggestions on how to improve the weaponskill since I don't know its average damage XP~ Though have been hearing it's not even better than Guillotine.

    Chance of critical isn't the answer for sure... unless you're adamant about staying in Abyssea.

    Which is the better option, because if it was an aspir, you would hear QQ about how the WS is worthless on X% of mobs or how after 1-2 ws it no longer has as much use etc etc.

    That said, it's damage does need to be upped.

    I'd rather it be Aspir.

    Our 2hr is worthless on undead, Catastrophe doesn't drain HP.
    Why break the trend?! At least make the WS make sense and consistent.

    What now we have a way to recover our MP we don't use 100% of the time? What garbage.

    Well, it depends on how you view the WS. It seems to me like DRK just happened to be next in line to get a "myrkr" WS. That is, a brand new high level WS... that isn't for damage but utility.

    I could of course go on and on about how SMN has it worse. (No new physical BPs since level 70, Myrkr does no damage, Garland of Bliss is utter trash, Cataclysm is EX). But I'll settle with saying that you ended up with a utility WS and now just have to rely on your previous WSes for actual damage.

    That brings up the 2nd part of the OP. There is very little reason to ever cast on DRK, so MP is never an issue. The most casting I ever do is for procs in VW and 34234432 temps keep my MP capped.

    You forgot to mention how Shattersoul is utter win (as far as SMN is concerned).

    At the very least give drk their own line of dark based nukes to use their mp on. They must be low cast time, .5 to 1 sec cast time, with a fair recast time, and adjust mp cost to balance. There can be 3-4 tiers of this as seen fit and will give drk a niche against phys resistant mobs and an overall dmg increase that they really need.

    They should also get occult accumen V based on the lv progression so far. This could create a nice rotation along with the new WS when not getting temps like in VW.

    I want to know why people keep saying that outside changing this to critical hits would be a bad thing. I use them outside and they are quite powerful even being outside abyssea. I think most of the people need to learn to gear better and do research to understand how critical tiers work. I fully support them changing this to a critical hit weapon skill and with, hopefully, STR mod.
