I can't use my "real name" because the name filter thinks it's a swear word (even though it's not, and it's a name that SE itself invented), so I had to change one letter.

Out of curiosity, by "real name" you mean "character name"?

I think they wanted to link forum accounts to characters at some point in the future, if I read/understood that correctly. I also use my character name, Leviathan > Arcon, and I know a lot of others do too. If you're unsure, just search on FFXIAH for their name and see if you find them.

My understanding is they are going to allow us to display all characters from our game account on our forum account profile and also use them for things like sigs.

I hope they don't automate that actually, I've had crazy stalker people in other games from forums before so I've learned to *not* use the same name on both from that x.X
