    Besieged Refinements [dev1055]

    Hello!

    I apologize if this topic has been started already, but I didn't see it.

    Things I would like to see:

    -A drop system: It would be nice to get some items from Besieged, even if they're not big ticket items. People typically naturally form parties for it anyway, so I think having things fall to parties would work okay without the need for unions like campaign.

    -More waves with less mobs in each: Besieged becomes next to unplayable when many people show up for it and there are dozens of enemies. I'd be okay with maintaining the total amount of enemies, but trickling them out slower to improve performance.

    -A Forced Besieged: This one may not be practical, but if an alliance wanted to 'lure' one of the beastman groups to Ahl Zabi, and initiate a Besieged, it might be kind of fun. There would of course have to be limits to it as Ahl Zabi is also a city in addition to a battlefield.

    Things I would like to *not* see:

    -Procs: Weakness targeting in Abyssea, Dynamis and Voidwatch is enough

    Things I would like to remain the same:

    Temp items are great, we don't need Atma here. XP and IS rewards are good as they are (in my opinion), especially if drops are added.

    Id like to see an instance or something where they have taken over it... sorta dynamis style with the leaders weapons as a reward or something

    The system as is has such a low threshold for qualifying for max XP/ISP. Any kind of reward would be totally random (and reward people who did almost nothing) or would be completely terrible (logs and ores and such). I think the solution might be to provide a different kind of benefit.

    -Perhaps increased skill-up rate while participating.
    -Perhaps you are rewarded with an XP scroll that you can use on a lowbie job.
    -Or perhaps as a reward for participation you get to keep one or more of the temp items you receive during the battle.
    -Or maybe you get assault points, Nyzul tokens, or ampoules.
    -Or Alexandrite (this would be abused lol)!

    There's a lot of ToAU content that is hard to find a group for these days so perhaps Besieged could be used to help people make progress.

    They could expand what we're able to buy with the IS we already receive. If they can't add anything new to what the guards will sell us, they could create vendors that will exchange IS for gear or materials.

    As far as triggering a Besieged, I don't know if that really makes sense. What would though is if we could do Campaign style battles within the Beastmen strongholds. It would make sense for us to be able to do preliminary strikes against them with similar benefits to what we get in Campaign or Besieged. No XP loss, and an XP/IS bonus and Union type treasure caskets at the end.

    Edit: We also already have staging points in place to help get us to these Campaign style battles. I wouldn't think it'd be too horrible to set up Campaign towers in these zones. It's not like they haven't been reworking mob layouts in other areas anyway.
