Go Go Scorpion!
Go Go Scorpion!
Vote for: Slime
Deals enough damage, has a native -Physical Damage Taken of roughly 50%, access to a strong Area Attack and Single-target Attack, access to HP Drain attack, and shall dominate all life on Vana'diel! What more could a Beastmaster ask for?! This was a long time dream to have a Slime Jug Pet since I began my long journey, years ago!
As for the name for it...One idea that came to mind was: SilentSlick. Will post more as I think of them.
vote: Scorpion
You mean the drain attack that drains ~150hp? The single attack that will deal ~300 and AoE that will do ~300? No self buffs, low HP? I cant think about anything else than holding physical hitting mobs forever to get even more rage from all ppl waiting to kill. All serious NMs now has magical TP moves that will make slime vaporize. It was only BSTs dream because at 75 while duo or solo Slime pet was best to kill regular IT w/o switching your pet that often. For endgame it's a very poor choice.
I vote slime then.
I'd like others like scorp and hippogryph, wish they could implement 3 or 4 of the pets instead of 1 that way everyone can be satisfied.

Voting for slime.
man the people voting for slime could end up with us getting one of the worst jugs in game.
Firstly, lets clear something up. Slimes dont have weakness to magic. They have slightly lower Mdef. Theres a big difference. The difference will hardly be noticeable. Meanwhile, the difference in pdt outside abyssea will be very noticeable.
Secondly, this is a bst section of the forums, so take your "parties have more rights than soloists" attitude and shove it. Everyone has an equal right to play this game however they want to and at whatever speed they want to. And the idea that a group killing something in 5 minutes has more right than a group or soloist who takes 40 minutes is just flawed logic.
Its that kind of reasoning that leads societies to immoral eugenics programs and massive death camps.
Thirdly, jug pets never get the HP they are supposed to. The slime might have a lot of hp. Even if its low hp it will be low like dipper wich isnt bad at all considering its higher than a players hp.
Fourthly, jug pet tp moves never match up in damage to their natural counterparts much in the same way bluemage spells hardly match up. Ive never seen a wild rabbit do a 2k whirl claws, have you? Point is we got no clue what kind of damage a slimes TP moves will do.
And for that matter we don't know anything about ANY of these choices because the devs want us to make a blind choice motivated by fear, skepticism, or faith and full of stress, loathing and dread. (thanks devs)
So its not exactly fair to rip on anyone for wanting anything at this point.
I didn't vote for slime but it was basically because i picked the pet i thought SE would mess with the least. Not because there is something wrong with slime. Most of these list pets have the potential of being really strong. And at this point that is all it is, Potential.
Lastly, if you took the time to count the votes, you would see that slime is soo far behind ruszor that it is highly unlikely it will win the most votes. Especially since ruszor is a good ways behind scorpion. Slime would have to be the come back king to win at this point, jumping from 3rd place to first and accumulating like double its votes, and thats assuming scorp and ruszor just flat out stopped getting votes.
I vote Scorpion.
