FFXI dissidia battlefields

I know this idea will be shut down fast and theres a LOT of thigs against implementing (mainly liscencing) but... would not be nice to hava battlefields like an arena or colisseum against iconic cameos of other final fantasy games???

Maybe Im not the first that came up with this crazy idea but after thinking a little, some FF games have been getting cameos of other games, granted not the ones in the roman numeral series, but still, cameos (cloud strife in FF Tactics comes to mind)

And with the second realese of Dissidia and including prishie and shantoto, I was thinking it would be nice to have a go to a BCNM type of fight against the likes of kefka, ultimecia, kuja, gabrant or even the heroes too, terra, Squall, vivi etc, and seeing them using FFXI abilities and new ones, and well, If Im allowed to dream, even get pieces of equipment alusive to these cameos (I know the implications of allowung a bunch of people all looking like sephirot and have names like ZpephirotXxXs would provoke massive facepalms but you dont have to make ALL the set wereable)

If Shantoto was able to cross dimenssions to fight them, why would we not??

Just think of teamming with or fight againts some of your favorite FF chars of all time....... a man can dream....

Crossovers with other Final Fantasies should remain in Dissidia. Final Fantasy XI, in and of itself, is not the place for this kind of thing, even given Abyssea.

I liked your other idea better than this. A collesum style area that lets you fight against any previous boss battle that you choose. They could implement some sort of reward system to let players get cool looking gear (not really made for fighting). I would like to do something like this just for fun, most of fights can be easily solo'd now or maybe they could let you mix things up and fight something like Odin and Alexander at the same time lol.

I dont see a problem in corssovers, other FFs cant have said crossovers as they are complete encapsulated games, but... FFXI is the only (besides FFXIV) capable of updating its content, and flavor wise, is not that crazy.

I know it would be pure fan service, but arent we like, the loyalest fans of any other FF game (as we play it for years)

Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts are the only true crossover series that include Final Fantasy. All other Final Fantasy games had zero real crossovers, just cameos by other characters (Cloud in Final Fantasy Tactics, for example). Given that Abyssea is an alternate Vana'diel, it fits within the realms of Final Fantasy XI. Midgar would not. The Kingdom of Baron would not.

I would be the first to tell you that it makes for a cool idea, but it has to be able to make sense as well. In this particular game, it can't.

Anyway, what if, flavor wise, we are not the ones going there but the other FF chars comming to Vanadiel via "invitation" by shantoto or promathia or whatever.

Im no writer and I would let the tibids of "making sense" in the hands of SE (as if I would directly influence them) and Dissidia and KH being the only crossovers doesnt have to exclude all others.

Its all arbitrary, it has as many reasons why it could and could not be, but excluding cuz Dissidia is Dissidia just because I named the thread like that is no argument, I could just name the thread "make cameo aperances of other FF chars in FFXI as battlefields" but dissidia as an starting example was what I went for, not that I want FFXI to turn into FF Dissidia Online (tho that would be a good idea as a new MMO like DC universe or something.. but lets not derail)

Take this for an example....Cid. He is literally in almost every FF game made. He is a Stand-Out Character. So, if Cid is in almost all FFs and in 11 as well.....it could make sense that the rest can be inserted in some manner. I would like Terra, Celes, Kefka, whatever character to be in this FF. If Cid is in 11, why not the others?

In the Dissidia games, the main protagonists and antagonists of Final Fantasies I through XII battle it out in a war between the gods. It makes sense, because said gods can pick and choose which fighters they want, and play out the scenario. Then Shinryu revives the loser, and everything restarts. In the Kingdom Hearts series, Keyblade wielders can traverse between Worlds. However, the only reason for that is the nature of the Keyblade; the Worlds are otherwise completely separate, with walls of light to make sure they stay that way. Then there's the corridors of darkness, which can only be used by beings of total darkness and dark Keyblade wielders.

Your idea was to have crossover appearances. Naming Dissidia as an example didn't matter too much in my argument, as I'd have brought it up anyway. That being said, how would, say, Cecil come to Vana'diel? Why would he? I can ask the same questions regarding any Final Fantasy character. There are no characters currently in Final Fantasy XI that are totally dark, so the dark corridors wouldn't work. About the only way I can think of where it would work is if you lost against Shinryu, which caused a second battlefield to open up, where Shinryu summons a random Final Fantasy character to fight you. Depending on the character, you may get help against Shinryu, or you may have more bosses to fight. Frankly, though, I don't think that's a great idea.

Well, Cid isn't a good example. Cid is a name and only that. He's not the same Cid from any FF game in the past. I do vote yes for this idea for the fun factor. What true FF fan would even care if it makes sense? lol. I would love to fight a BCNM against Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Kain, and Edge...that would be epic.
