I'm making one, and I was wondering if anyone here had anything they could share regarding gearsets pertaining to maxing the weaponskill as well as where/if you go for store TP.

Well i don't own a cala, or have ever seen a pld using one, but i do have a drk friend with it. You're going to want the ele torque/gorget to get the +.2 fTP. Twilight head/body are great for the mods/attack, however if u have an ares' cuirrass, it edges out over twil body.

AF3 hands are a given, vit rings, brutal and an earring with attack on it. Jingang hose would be good. Dilaram's sollerets would be great if you could get them. Jingang/ares' feet are fine as well. you *could* use koenig feet but only if you're positive your fSTR is capped.

Basically with this WS, you want to cap your fSTR (about 84 str more than your target), try to cap attack (opponent's defense *2.2), then load up with any vit you can find.

TP set: make a 7 hit with capped haste. Unless pld has more STP on gear than drk, you have to sacrifice too much to obtain the 6hit. Atma TA to increase your tp gain (apoc/omnipotent) and griffon's claw for added WS dmg. I hope some of this helps!

You're welcome to ask them. Though, I'll warn you now, you'll likely get a few dozen posters coming into your thread complaining about how PLD is taking all of DRK's good Emp weapons and SE hates them.

I really have nothing valuable to add to your OP, though, since I have never messed around with CaladPLD. A few people have asked this question on BG though, so you may have better luck with a response there.

@Dragonlord: Your post was pretty much exactly the kind of information I was looking for, with the exception of exact store TP numbers, but I could just stop being lazy and go find the numbers myself. Thank you!

@Greatguardian: I would lol so hard. BG sounds reasonable, except I'm allergic to that particular degree of elitism. I might delve in there if I get desperate though, I do know they have good information.

Perhaps once I'm done I should come back with results, eh? Just got to Lamprey Lord last night, so not toooo many trials left.

If you stick to the Random Question Thread and the What's Better? threads in FFXI: Advanced, it is literally against site rules for anyone to troll you or be a dick to you for asking questions. Obviously, you'll get a few stares if you ask what STR does, since you can look that up on wiki, but asking for a decent PLD Calad build isn't that big a deal, lol.
