Meh, I don't have the sky warp because (1) good luck soloing ZM5 on WHM; (2) my LS never has anyone interested in doing the ZMs; and (3) leveling another job (say, PUP) to 95 just to get Sky access is a waste of time that could be more productively spent doing... well, pretty much anything else.
a black chocobo would be kind of neat for going up cliffs and stuff, but flying to ru'aun etc wouldn't work in vanadiel. SE would have to add sky space for us to fly in that we dont currently have. main point though, it's definitely not something we need, and would take a ton of SE's time and our PCs' memories that could be used for much more useful stuff.
Zones don't scale on the Z axis so it probably be pointless. What is a problem with FFXI is how your chocobo is limited to certain areas. Like can't even use them in the past.
Just for curiosity's sake, elaborate how FFXI is so different and better as a result.I think you don't know the meaning of the word "creative" if your idea of creativity is to blatantly rip off another game.
In a day and age where nearly every MMO out there is trying to be a WoW clone, one of the few things FFXI has going for it is that it's NOT WoW. Why would you want to ruin that?
Off the top of my head, I'd say the art styles and emphasis on PvP/Factions are the biggest differences. From the mathematical standpoint, however, I'd say WoW and many of its "clones" are more robust and flexible, particularly when it comes to spells/abilities and things monsters do in battle. And for those who want to see Campaign done right, play Rift.
