    Dark Rider and Warhorse Hoofprint?

    I've searched high and low in all 4 zones for the past 4-5 days and nothing, I look in every nook, cranny, and corner of all 4 zones and nothing. I use /RNG and Wide Scan while doing all that looking and no Dark Rider in any of the zones. So is there some certain time DR pops and leaves the hoofprint? Time, moon phase, day of the week, weather, season, day, or night? What's the deal? Is he mythical like Fire and Light weather?

    I was always under the impression that you couldn't wide-scan it.

    Dark Rider shows up, the Hoofprint doesn't. If you can find him, the Hoofprint can't be that far and is likely in that zone, I'd assume.

    He's never up long enough for you to really just jump into a zone and find him.

    I occasionally see the hoofprint sitting in random places, but rarely the Dark Rider (I've only seen him three times in my FFXI career, not that I go out looking for him). I'm under the impression that he leaves it in a single zone, and it stays there for a certain amount of time; When he appears again, the Hoofprint will disappear from its old place and appear somewhere around his path. I've seen a Hoofprint stay in a single spot for three days or more.

    That's just my experience with the Hoofprint.

    I guess it was much easier back then to /sh in Whitegate to know if anyone has seen it recently, and go off of that. Poor old Aht Urghan ; ;

    There's a total of over 45 possible locations for the warhorse hoofprint, spread across 4 zones. More than one can be up at the same time.

    When I had to go find the hoofprint, and no current location was known, I basically just chocobo'ed/legged it through the zone, from pop spot to pop spot until I found it.

    To add to what Tamoa said...

    Here's a (hopefully complete, but probably not) listing of possible locations for the Warhorse Hoofprint. I didn't spend much time looking for a definitive list, so maybe there's a better one out there?

    I'd recommend trying Wajaom Woodlands and Bhaflau Thickets first, since apparently a majority of the possible prints are in those two zones and you can easily run around both of them on a chocobo.

    Good luck and Godspeed.

    Thx Zatias, Tamoa, and SW. This info should help. I never knew that it stayed up till he pops again, nor did I know that there were set spots for it to pop.
