Silly question, but did you make sure to select the star next to your name when they ask you to pick a character for the test server?
It doesn't even let me pick a character for the test server.
I go here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/13713 and click on the link at the bottom, agree to the terms, then it says "You do not have any characters which meet the Admission." and that's where it ends.
In my settings page I do have my leveled character selected. Any other suggestions?
If at first you do not succeed, losing may be your only option.
I had fixed my SE account situation on Oct-31 (as noted from a post made earlier in this thread). But it still didn't work for me until today finally. I had given up checking 3-4 days after I made the transfer correctly. Today's test server update reminded me to check it again and it was good.
