I'd like to see you do Voidwatch Part 2 and get drops with 1 party.

obviously we can't expect from SE they admit that PS2 limitations is the reason also they keep cloning existing zones instead of releasing complete new areas, they minimize the impact of the problem admitting only "yes the problem is only the 80 spaces" ...
i think they have dozens of new areas ready from years, but they can only clone existing zones (jugner, jugner of the past, misar, abys-misar, etc.)
without new areas designed for lv.99 it's hard to keep on with the same contents we have now...

There's still plenty of useless places left in the existing areas. Though we know at least one new area is coming for the "dungeon crawl system."
The number of areas is irrelevant. They change monsters whenever they raise the level cap. There will always be level-appropriate monsters and NMs somewhere, you don't have to add new areas to do that.
in past interviews ps2 has been blamed for: * BY SE*
lack of invo * they finally fixed* though look at all the errors its caused them 360 players anyone?!
inability to expand auto trans
inability to add new zones * past wotg* and i don't mean rehashed zones
ps2 is the reason KI's broke
ps2 support is the main reason the graphics haven't been updated at all.
oh and don't forget the game cant get much bigger then it is because the PS2 can barely handle things as they are now, case in point how many people have had to log into there friends account who plays on ps2 so they could get past a npc CS. an issue SE still hasn't acknowledged or fixed kinda like 360's freezing.
and lastly why do they support ps2 but no longer produce the ps2 the HDD needed for ffxi or even the modem attachment for said pst / hard drive esp since you cant play xi on the slim ps2 , youve got to get one of the fat easy to break ones.
Even so, there's nothing to do in these zones.
Raise the levels of all these mobs, make GoV for them but all they are is an alternative to abyssea so then...there's nothing else to do.
I used to be optimistic about this game but with how almost anything worthwhile doing is in Abyssea or Voidwatch, I'm really starting to bite my lip. =/
they're adding new limbus and einherjar areas, and they're "revitalizing" nyzul, limbus, and einherjar. i don't know about the "revitalizing", but the new limbus and einherjar areas will at least provide us with some challenging endgame for lvl 99 players.
Eh, I doubt that personally. Nyzul, Limbus, and Einherjar were all "Casual"-level endgame events at 75. Less so Einherjar than the others, but it really wasn't that hard post-nerf. Most of its difficulty stemmed from "Insta-Screw You!" Tier 3 chambers.
Einherjar scaled up to 99 would be really cool, but I doubt it'd really be that difficult if they kept the difficulty at the same relative level as they did original Einherjar at 75. Limbus will likely receive a change similar to Dynamis, allowing daily entry and removing the soap fee. We may see new Arch-Omega and Arch-Ultima NMs, but casual players will never bother killing them because... well, what do casual players bloody bother to do in this game aside from whine about having "nothing to do"?
That just leaves Nyzul, which is always fun. However, like Einherjar, I doubt it'll really be hard rather than simply scaled up to 99. Nyzul was easily the most casual of those 3 events at 75, and will likely stay that way at 99.
Can anyone here say for a 100% fact(FACT, not what you think you remember) that SE has commented that PS2 is the reason we aren't getting new zones? 'cause I've never seen those quotes. They didn't seem bothered by it in the past when speaking of expansions they'd like to do. Personally I see it as them not wanting to do the work because it would leave us basically update-less for a long while and they're afraid it would result in a mass exodus. It's possible, I guess.
Nevermind my usual conspiracy theory that it's FFXIV related, tacked on WotG as a final hooray because they were convinced that the vast majority of FFXI players would give up their years of work in favor of starting from scratch on a new game so they threw all of their eggs in one basket. Now it's kind of like, oooh, oh shit what do we do now. Hey you guys throw us back some of our 11 devs and- Oh you're just throwing 250 people on 14 to reboot it. Well, okay, we'll just keep doing lame add ons and small timer content for your flagship title. Thanks for the support, guys. We'll be sure to get Cam and company to relay our agony in the best possible tone and spin to our player base that's still paying 12.95+ a month(to do crap like GoV and I like GoV but it's crap compared to full blown expansions that we should be doing instead) for a game that's not being seriously expanded on to fund every game's development except ours, FFXI.
MMOs are not meant to be trust funds. They're meant to be long term games that you must expand on if you want to keep getting free millions of monies.
