    Silena scroll and spell description

I'm not sure if this is technically a localization/translation problem, but it's definitely wrong...

The Silena scroll and spell description both say "Removes silence and mute from target." However, the spell definitely does not remove the Mute status effect. I think it should be changed to simply "Removes silence from target."

This may or may not be a bug, as some NM versions of Mute can't be cured. And the JP seems to say the same thing. But let's see what the officiel answer is

I'm pretty sure no version of mute can be cured in any way, save for letting it wear off, or going to an NPC in Windurst Woods, who'll study it, remove it, and pay you some gil. It's what differentiates mute from silence.

He once sold his soul to Promathia for a rare drop. He later won it back in a drinking contest, before beating up the twilight god for good measure.
He's won dance-off trophies from the Republic of Bastok, the Duchy of Jeuno, and the Yagudo Theomilitary.
He's won entire arguments with a single leer.
He is the most interesting galka in the world.

Mute is the "super" version of silence. Other status effects such as curse and disease also have super versions, but these can still be removed (Doom and Plague respectively)

Thanks for the report, Merton9999, and to everyone else for the additional feedback.

The devs have confirmed that this is indeed an error, and will be deleting "mute" from the JP help text.
The fix will go live in all languages in a future version update.

    Much appreciated!

Couldn't you rather fix it by letting silena remove mute with a low chance of success ? Base it on healing magic skill or something.

Oh, I thought some versions of Mute could be cured with Silena (not 100%)... maybe it was something else.

That's how it works for cursna and Doom, at least, and where I got my idea of a fix from .

    Greetings all!

Please disregard my last post, as the dev team contacted us again saying that their initial impression was mistaken, and that there are indeed some forms of Mute that are curable with Silena.

Because of this, the text will likely stay the same (though they admit it's a bit misleading now).

    Incidentally,
Couldn't you rather fix it by letting silena remove mute with a low chance of success ? Base it on healing magic skill or something.
Suggestions like the above, while very welcome, should be raised in one of the gameplay-related forums, as they'll just fall on deaf ears here--and we don't have a spell to cure Deafness yet.
