I agree with the op on everything about people whine too damn much but I dont find voidwatch to be good content, it's got a great idea behind it yet has horrible mechanics and execution, no one not even SE can defend voidwatch and how lame it is atm. At least hnm we had decent items to look into and none of this c**kblocking on drops due to flawed spoils systems, I would rather low drop rate than low drop rate + crap spoils system.

Off topic but boo they are right, didn't you quit? Get off the forums if you're moving on as you said, you look like a whiney child otherwise, the op silently talking exactly of people like you

I know I'll prolly get some stick after the last thread I posted in on the forum, but meh there's nothing stopping me from commenting on people's threads, regardless of what people want to believe.

But I think you're spot on, there's a lot of negativity, now obviously being an official forum there's a level of feedback and suggestions and personally I think they're great to have (and love the fact SE has taken a more active interest), because at least it means SE can learn what players (old and new) like, don't like and how they think it can be improved. And of course on the other hand you do get people taking it too seriously and going a little over the top, with trolls to feed their frustration too. As you rightly say, there's a lot of negativity.

FFXI is a great game, it has a lot about it that's enjoyable and I think that's important. If people are no longer interested, they can stop playing and if they find interest again then they can carry on playing. Yes, I quit the game (and I'm probably going to be trolled), but if the game isn't going to continue to appeal to me then I ought not expect it to, it would be very self-centred if I expected SE to change the game to specifically suit ME.

At the end of the day it's a video game and in playing MMORPG's I know for certain a lot of people forget that and take things waaaaay too seriously, if it's not going to suit you any more then you don't have to play. So although I am a lowlife scumbag quitter who shouldn't even be posting on this forum! SE have done a bloody good job to make the game good and to keep it going for so long.

I'd like to thank SE for Abyssea most of all, Neo-Dynamis, and now WoE which I'm starting to find is a nice diversion. The new ways of leveling are really refreshing. Trial of the Magians was overall a very nice idea with a few bumps here and there.

I appreciate that SE has made the game more forgiving, and while I have no problems with including content for the truly hardcore, I hope that these trends will continue for those of us who appreciate them.

What would you have people do when S-E makes such glaring mistakes as needlessly restricting the supply of scrolls? Just bend over, grab their ankles, and just take it? Sorry, but that has to be called out with force.

There have been quite a few things that S-E got right in the past year, and I am not stingy in giving them credit where it's due. However, I'd be no better than some of the wanna-be shills on this forum if I didn't make my opinions known when they pull something like the above or pulling a fast one on North American Beastmasters.

I've played this game since late 2005, so I've been around during the first bout with inflation. If it weren't for people who cared about the game's best interest speaking out and calling out flaws in the game, I doubt it would even be here today.

I agree that too much negativity is toxic, but turning a blind eye to problems does a grave disservice to everyone who simply want to have the best possible game experience.

Reduce or get rid of the penalty incurred after setting blue magic spells.
The concept is that you acquire blue magic spells via learning and then you can change battle strategies by picking and choosing spells within the blue magic spell points and set limitations. If you were able to change spells freely, the whole battle strategy aspect would be lost, so we have no plans to remove/reduce the penalty.

I wouldn't put it as elequently as you, but yes, that is the nature of FFXI and MMOs in general. The general availability of some items are sparse. Can you count the defending rings on your server? Granted I know that a Defending Ring is much different than say a Scroll of Blizzaja (which I got last night), but its the way FFXI has been for years and years. Drop rates have actually imporved signifigantly because of Abyssea and the availablity of crafting items have gone way up because of it. Just keep going for what you want. You'll eventually get it.
