I'm with you Sevvy. I've only been playing since 2008 but the things I hear from playing for like 5-6+ years and even from my own experience when I joined, everything was rewarding for how challenging it was, even if it was dumb and frustrating. But a lot of those things no longer carry the weight that it use to. 76+ and abyssea has literally spoiled everyone... EVERYONE. If you actually want something, you generally can get it in a matter of hours, if not days. Leveling, new equipment (both drops and AF3), even emp weapons. For those who are even remotely invested in this stuff, it flows like water.

WoE and Voidwatch is breaking the trend, in which you actually invest a gripping amount of time to defeat and obtain items of worth, similar to things expansions before level cap increase and restrictions removed from some areas. It's meant to keep you engaged. It's not perfect a perfect system, but it doing what it's suppose too. How long will anyone stay if they got what they wanted in a few weeks or even hours of doing something before they complain about how bored they are and leave because they "have nothing to do" between updates?
