It isn't related, no mac client.
I'm sure there are plenty of threads on Steve Jobs' death on forums more relevant to what he did in his life. I'm not sure why one is needed on this forums as well. It just seems out of place, like a planar rift in boyahda.
"I sense a great disturbance in the force.... as if a million Apple Fanbois all cried out at once , and then were suddenly silenced."
I've been a a Mac user since Mac came out. I was a also PC user until my MacBook could run FFXI. I play FFXI on my Mac. I know others who do the same.
But I digress.
Steve and his company have done tremendous things for our world. Whether you think Apple's technical contributions are significant or not, there is simply no denying that Apple has brought the PC, smartphone, and now tablet computing platforms into mainstream consumerism. They have literally changed the way most people live their lives.
That being said, this doesn't really belong on an FFXI forum.
I play FFXI on Windows on a Mac contradictions go.
This thread doesn't belong here but this post had nowhere else to go.
ITT: butthurt over nothing
As posted by Enkrateia, the haters and lovers should not be arguing over this, a person has passed before his time, he was 56; and that the only things that really should be mentioned are condolences to his family and friends. Everyone has lost someone, how would you feel if that information got posted someplace and it started an arguement over whether it should be or there.
He did a lot of good things with the technology and I'm sure he will be missed by a lot of people.
For those who cannot at least be respectfull of him, at least please be respectfull of a fellow human being.
Erevan-Elvaan WAR 1st job, best job.
Moved to Bahamut like lots of folks
It always amazes me how the latte cult have convinced themselves that Jobes created the entire PC industry in a vacuum.
The idea of a personal computer was not new and had been around in various forms since the 50's. There were computers that would be recognized today as a "PC" to the casual observer as early as 1973 (the Xerox Alto). Commodore had the PET in development at around the same time the Apple II was being developed targeted at the same market segment (educational use).
Also the Atari 400/800 and the Commodore VIC 20, and C64 did far more to popularize the home computer than the Apple II ever did.
Saying that home PCs would not exist if not for the Apple II is like saying that computer viruses would not exist if not for Elk Cloner.
I know because I personally watched it happen (my first computer was a VIC 20 btw)

Greetings, everyone!
As Enkrateia mentioned earlier, this thread may be locked or deleted if it became too off-topic or disrespectful. Unfortunately, it does seem that this thread has tread quite far from being about the game, so the thread has to be closed. Thanks again for your participation!
