Spoiler!
Like every good internet argument, this post features a Hitler reference. If you can see it coming, you get 5 imaginary points.
Old Bill and his public image. He prolly wrote that entry from his skull shaped volcano lair.
Outrageous lie. The PC was unavoidable from the moment Alan Turing theorized his ideas of computation. Nothing that Jobs did or didn't do would have changed that, or even put a dent in the technology. And even without Turing it was just a matter of time. Computers are a natural part of evolution. It was the next step from where we were before. We're where we are because this is how it had to be. Not even five more world wars and an ice age would have stopped computers, let alone old Stevie.
And let's assume for just a second, that Jobs was in some way necessary for computers to have emerged, it doesn't mean that he's responsible or that it's even his doing. It's coincidental relevance, not an achievement. It's like saying that without Hitler humans wouldn't have gone into space, because he shaped the world like he did and made people work on certain sciences that were for military application at first, but eventually, allowed space shuttles to be built.
This thread ought not to exist in the first place. This forum is for and about FFXI, and even if by your logic Jobs is responsible for it, he is still not a part of it and shouldn't be discussed here. You don't see me making a thread to hail Leonhard Euler (who, by the way, deserves it a lot more than Jobs ever could).
