Throw in fishing. It's just about pointless to bother. 5 years ago - 1-14 skill no problem for me. It was relatively easy to get skill ups with your eyes closed and one arm behind your back(I enjoy the mini game as it is now, don't get me wrong) Today - 7 hours for .7 in skill ups. 5 different zones. And was using the presumed "correct" combos. That's absolutely ridiculous. They might as well remove it from the game if it's going to be impossible to skill up. And from everything I read the skill up ring still does not do it justice. It's a sad day when someone brags about getting 4 levels in one day at low skill ranges.

It also doesn't help when you can't get the ring because the Gugrusaurus requires a level 100 fisher geared through the butt to catch and isn't on the AH and blah blah blah. So. I gave up. My heart was really into starting fishing finally after all these years and to level it beyond 14 to 100 after realizing I need to level it to craft fisherman's cuffs. It's the opportunity and excuse I've been looking for to do fishing. I even crafted myself up HQ gear(just because) and bought that Lu shang rod I've had my eye on since forever. But I just cannot stomach such a poor system. I was so bored I was falling asleep. I can make 500-1 mil or more per hour with relative ease. I don't need to fish for gil. And I would love to enjoy the experience, if only the skill ups were a bit more realistic and not totally FUBAR for the sake of a skill up ring to be worth getting.

I can only imagine how FUBAR crafting in general would be if they had given the fishing fix treatment to the other crafts to put a stop to RMT. I would not enjoy any other craft either if I never got skill ups. You enjoy things when you see progress being made. When there's no progress and your time is being totally wasted, you cannot enjoy it, and you start to fall asleep or your attention goes elsewhere and eventually you just say eff it. And so I did. Until the day fishing is reverted back to it's former glory and becomes enjoyable again.

P.S. MAYBE I'll try it again when I can get a ring. I could frickin live with 4 skills a day. Just not bloody .7 after 7 hours. Still, this craft needs fixing.
