I feel that most of the monsters that have been added to existing areas feels like they've been put there just for the intention of putting them there. Doing Gov pages on level 90-95 feels sort of awkward when you could get much faster EXP by soloing dom ops pages inside Abyssea. Fighting a level 93 King Crawler takes like forever when you can poke a Sandsweeper that checks IT++ in less than a minute. I talking mostly about soloing in this case since most of these places really feel empty.
At least you don't time out in the older zones I guess...
That's my point.
EXP is completely trivial. What isn't trivial is the hours of skillup afterwards which is more conducive to a GoV party than Abyssea bar AFKing to cap defensive skills on crap like mandies.
A small group doing GoV for skillup (especially with Martial) is more attractive to me than a typical Abyssean party where no one is doing squat, pulls are slow, pathetic and overall resources are being wasted.
Heroes EXP is just frankly boring to me and encourages me to AFK. It's great for EXP but terrible for skillup.

Abyssea can be faster than gov but its way more stressful. Typically any pt I've gone into, everyone is just standing around the book while maybe 2 or 3 people do any work. And most of the time Im worrying about (and usually end up right) things like is that blm skilled enough to land sleep on the mobs? Is that war going to do anything but skill up/break latents? Is that mnk going to be able to HIT anything? You have to keep people organised and keep lights going. These first few days after the update was teh first time in so long I have seen GOOD pts in abyssea.
I went into sky to duo gov with a friend first day after the update..it was so much more relaxing. Back on topic though, after thinking of it more I think Im happy they have tried to breathe new life into the old zones. Mob placement could use some work still, but if I ran through these places before, I always felt a little sad nobody ever went to them for anythign except a few specific reasons.
