    Pets meleeing is classified as melee. Anyone not meleeing with their pet is doing less damage than someone whose pet is meleeing. SE does not reward you for doing less damage, and neither will I.

    Nah, it is just that their math is limited to "Any number < WAR max damage = gimp and not worth it".
