You already get a permanent portal pass once you get captain rank.

03-17-2011 01:08 PM #2It's not hard to exp in ToAU areas unless you have no friends and you're too lazy to setup a party. It's not that hard to find a sync and bored people willing to exp in ToAU areas for old time's sake.

You guys say it's easy to get captain rank now. Can assault missions be soloed? I have not done a single one. I just restarted early last year with a new account so all this whitegate stufff is still new to me. Now that they have went the way of abyssea I haven't even bothered with whitegate in months.

03-17-2011 01:15 PM #4They require 3 people to enter but pretty much any 3 people with a half-solid job selection between them can complete every Assault at 90. If you can find 5 other people needing captain rank (this seems common), you can pretty much destroy everything and your only limiting factor will be Assault Tags.
Edit: This is assuming you set up a static group and do each assault once and only once (till Captain promotion where you repeat each assault a second time). Pickups or shouts will make this process hell.(0)
03-17-2011 01:21 PM #5Yah.. i've been redoing all the assault missions recently because im working on a mythic weapon.. and they are soooo much easier than lvl 75 cap..
Most would be soloable if it wasn't for the 3 man requirement.. its not too hard to find 2 other people tho..
The atma for captain is a worthwhile incentive for people i've teamed up with as well as the free portals.(0)
03-17-2011 02:34 PM #6hehe.. the post about only having 5/6 portals. I remember when I first got there and was unlocking the portals and I got lost and eventually stumbled on one I didn't have an online map to in the guide I was using. Come to find out, no one else in the LS had it either so I had to port back out there and stand there while the whole alliance tried to find me.
Good times.
Wish I still had a link to that guide...they had a PDF file with the safest paths marked on the maps to them. Was easy to do...did them all at like 62 BLM/WHM in one evening.

I really doubt there would be much overcrowding issues.
I also hope i have 5 tags when i come back.. burned all mine the day before servers shut down >_>(0)
