How is it any more ludicrous as it was to level all your jobs to 65+ and beat maat before better ways to level came about? And how is it pointless, when it's something that helps you experience much of what the game has to offer (missions, quests, all the jobs) without ridiculous competition by other people wanting it as well? (Think: empyrean weapons)
And some of us want to have the entire set!(Better yet, SE could maybe make the final armor either a recolored maat's set or a totally awesome new look.) And I'm sure the story developers could think of rather humorous ways of telling the story of how you manage to get the entire set of clothing.
The whole point of having a Maat's set of clothing is mainly for the challenge of it. Some of it is stupidly evil grinding (A lot of it), but there's also challenge in some of it, such as getting every mission in the game. These were just challenges I thought of, they aren't something the dev team has to implement exactly, just as with the stats.
But if they do implement such a thing, I hope they do it so that the quests aren't something that limits the people who can take on the challenge. For example, nothing that requires a ridiculous sum of money, just for one item, such as mythics and alexandrite. The gain all spells challenge I wrote also costs a ton of money, but you get all the spells as well as the gear in exchange. Also nothing that comes off notorious monsters on a spawn timer or the like, or that requires a pop item that drops off a limited number of monsters. It has to be a challenge anyone can take on without competition from others, just as how the maat's cap can be earned without competing with other people.
