    Race handicaps

Since Abyssea come out I've noticed the Tarutaru handicap of less HP than others come to be a big problem. It never bothered me in the years previous, but now it's a severe handicap. So much so that, where other Kannagi NIN's and Empyrean weapon melee are able to fully build the Atma over what gives them the best crit/modifiers, I find myself having to nearly always equip some form of HP atma just to bring me up to the HP of the mages, never mind the other melee.

And I know, other races suffer from lower MP issues, but with the amount of Refresh available, and gear giving refresh now surely the Tarutaru HP can be tweaked now? 2.3k HP with the atma set of: Apocalypse, Sanguine Scythe and Brother Wolf (Orthrus killing) isn't enough to me.

Especially when the hume WHM has 200 HP more without building for it.

Can we expect any tweaks with this, and any other handicaps in the future? It's beginning to limit my amount of enjoyability on the game.

    *Edit*
I'm unsure as to why it's posted into the Missions category.

Get all the Abyssite of Merit (60% HP bonus in total), cap out HP Merits (120 extra MP) and if all that doesn't fix your problem, consider wearing max HP gear in certain slots instead of swapping out for atma.

Cap out haste and keep up Migiwari whenever you think the mob will try to oneshot you, since it works better if your HP is smaller.

But yeah, Tarutaru HP is pretty gimpy considering all the other downsides Tarutaru have to face for stats. I doubt a solution outside a second RSE set at 90ish however...

Agreed. See, that's the thing. I have most if not all of those you listed. Think I'm missing one Merit abyssite. Have the 12 HP merits and a bunch of HP gear.

I doubt it'll get much attention in all honesty, but I decided to post anyway just in case.

I've always felt that the taru's HP handicap was the only one that truly mattered by 75, and have constantly advised newcomers picking that race unless they were dead set on it.

With that said, I don't see any reason to remove it. People weighed the pros and cons of the races when they picked characters; if they turned out to pick a race that has a negative downside they didn't properly weigh in light of the advantages, dems the breaks for them.

Tarus are ideally mage and summoner classes, there's rarely a cutscene where you don't meet with a non-mage Taru. While you can defy the idealism by making a taru ninja and joke about how little HP you have compared to a galka in the end it's your choice to play a taru. Moaning about their low HP and STR as a melee would be like a galka moaning about their lack of MP and INT as a mage. If you don't like the low HP pool for melee jobs but want a suitable MP pool for casting jobs then you should ideally play a balanced class, like a Hume, otherwise you have to live with the consequences and find yourself having to gimp your job to work around the major discrepancies.

Hello my party fellows, sorry I'm late!
My chocobo passed out because I'm overweight.
