Hmmm... I've never tried Monster Correlation for spell learning. I usually have good luck stacking CHR. And yes, I understand it's my particular idiosyncrasy to believe CHR helps. Just seems to work lol
RDM BLM BLU SMN THF SAM COR ..::{ Desperately Seeking Salvage }::..
Blu skill and the AF hands are the only thing that improve chances unless someone has some significantly tested data that will indicate otherwise. Don't be a victim of the sharpshooter fallacy. Just because you try to learn a spell several times and then change something and learn it does not mean it was affected. Even 100 trials would not be enough to prove that setting certain spells or wearing any stat gear would help.
I swear I use this site every day I play FFXI lol
gonna go ahead and bump this because its worth it to anyone who hasnt seen it before.
i dont think monster correlation has anything to do with learning spells... i could be wrong. blue magic skill is your best bet and the AF1 gloves.
feeding the mob TP is the only way i know to 'encourage' it to use your spell.
I have this site bookmarked and haven't used it in ages, but it's a pretty useful site for any up-and-coming BLUs.
Wow. I'm touched that so many folks find the site useful. There are days when I have wondered if there was a reason to still keep it up. It was a hobby that got a bit out of control. I know that the advice is a bit conservative on a lot of spells, and given the massive changes in level cap, a lot of the advice is needing serious updating. (for example I'd love to change the 'can learn at' information from job level to exact BLU Magic level needed.) but time is a bit more dear these days.
Thanks for the kind words. I'll be active with the new spells in a few weeks.

THANK YOU ^^
