They already said on these forums that they have 0 intention on developing any more expansions. At least not in the next couple years. The so-called "resources" that are there are being used to bring us the bulk amount of upcoming minor updates which seemingly emphasize on giving the little guys a break. If they were to say they are planning the development of a future expansion, my support would be all for it. Hell, I would donate money just to help get the process going. But that just isn't going to happen. And so with the game's ongoing trend of pointlessness and quick and easy methods of accomplishing relevant goals, my only hope is that PvP will some day be as active as it once was, because no matter how unrewarding it is materially, I feel rewarded by actually enjoying some aspect of FFXI rather than wonder why I'm letting my money dwindle every month.
