First, let me open by complimenting Square Enix on a great game. This is still the best MMORPG on the market today - and considering how old it is that's quite an accomplishment. I'll admit you dropped the ball big time with FF 14 (it sucked) but you made something special with this game. No matter what other game I play, I always come back to this one. It's the best, so let me give credit where it's rightfully due. But enough gooey praise, and it's time to get critical. Here are some problems I would like for you to address to - as the title of my post suggests - make a good game better.

1. Equipment Swapping During Battle
This has become a very common and almost expected part of Final Fantasy 11 gameplay - yet it feels so sloppy and poorly integrated. For example: when you swap equipment that has a visual impact it will cause your character to "blink", causing all other players to lose their current target. This is extremely annoying - especially if you are trying to heal someone. Another nuisance is when you swap gear it floods your battle log with useless equipment messages, making it very difficult to follow the battle effectively. I really do think you should streamline this aspect of the game, and allow players either the ability to filter out the equipmenet gear change message in their log and end how it abruptly cancels current targets, or forbid equipment changes during battle all together. But one or the other needs to be done.

2. Confusing Icons
Many enhancement icons, such as Phalanx, Rampart, Cover, Sentinel ect. all look the exact same on your battle menu. This makes it very difficult to distinguish between them, so I would really like to see a more distinct look given individual enhancements.

3. Campaign Music
Although cool at first, if you are trying to level up in the past having to listen to this music over and over can really start to drive you crazy. Would be nice if you added an option to the config menu that allowed you simply to turn the campaign theme off.
