You get sick or hurt and the Medic is on the way. However the best healers in the real world keep you healthy before you even get sick. WHM should have an ability/spell that preemptively prepares party members from the next status ailment.

Barelement (very helpful)
Barailement (not helpful, looks pretty though)
Shellra (somewhat helpful)
Boost-MND (situationally somewhat helpful)
Divine Caress (somewhat helpful)
Blink (with /SCH, somewhat helpful)
Cure (prevents the K.O. status ailment)
I think the problem that many White Mages have is that Barailement spells are less effective then boosting all your stats (INT, MND, CHR) up +5 points. Sure, it might lower the time the ailment is on the target, but unless you're incapacitated (Petrified or dead) you are pretty much expected to remove ailments on party members as they are put on.
I've thought about this a lot myself. What'd be cool is if we got a new tier of bar-status spells, but instead of giving resistance they act like Utsu: Ichi for the status problem the Bar covers. It'd just be three auto-removals instead of three shadows.
Yeah, even combined with the bar-element of the same element, the bar-status spells aren't useful at all.
Considering what the potency of Divine Caress is like, the length of the recast, and that it's single target; it seems unlikely the current bar-status spells will ever be that useful. Some dude at SE seems to consider preventing status ailments a very big deal.
I'd love some new way to prevent status ailments other, though. Whether it's an expensive single-target spell that could block several ailments, or a second tier of bar-status spells with longer recasts and higher MP cost. Even being able to make use of Divine Caress without removing an effect in the first place would be welcome.
