I think the general idea of pet jobs is that each master has exclusive control over his or her own pet; no one else can tell your pet what to do. Enmity shifts can occur between master and pet only.
That is what I was trying to expand on. They are all experts in their own field, but what could they grant to their fellow brothers? Maybe a BST could tip a SMN into feeding their avatars so they are less grumpy. A PUP could teach BST to train their lady bugs to perform pole dances. The possibilities are endless.

...wait, you want pets to be able to change jobs around?

I think it terns of balance, they would want to balance all jobs together and not draw a line between normal jobs / pet jobs.

However the ideas are very interesting.

...did you look at what the earring does? It boosts pet acc when a bst is in the party. Does not work for the bst themselves unless there's another bst in the party.

He once sold his soul to Promathia for a rare drop. He later won it back in a drinking contest, before beating up the twilight god for good measure.
He's won dance-off trophies from the Republic of Bastok, the Duchy of Jeuno, and the Yagudo Theomilitary.
He's won entire arguments with a single leer.
He is the most interesting galka in the world.

I'm personally mostly noticing all the "enhances pet: No equip for you!" items. Especially when they list all jobs except 2-3 pet jobs.... makes me consider SE thinking everyone is /BST these days.

Maybe something along the lines of an aura for pets would be more balanced.

(Example) BST: 2 or more of the same pet type (i.e Beasts) get +15% weaponskill damage (or HP% up, attack boost, whatever) for their pets. Does not increase with more pets.
