i have a mule with the same name, so what?
and another post of mine where people talk w/o reading what I had already said.
It isnt as bad now but 6-12 mos from now it will be. By then the damage will already be done.
I'll break my golden rule for this:
Bring it on, I say. There's nothing I would like more than one chance at making hundreds of millions of gil easily, to horde all that gil for future purchases, before deflation happened again. Bring it on, please. I just need the one chance to be a billionaire. All I'm asking.

Ya seriously gonna just drag this out arent ya? How about in 6 mos come tell me how there are less people there.. and in a year tell me how no one go there anymore... Or you can join reality and realise that every day more and more people will end up out there. Lets pretend that once every 3 days some bot gets an ebisu rod. that is at least 120 new ebisubots per year.. Ya think they gonna go anywhere else but there?
Someone find it for me.. the last vana census thing,, It clearly shows the huge influx of ebisu rods... But na you are right and I am so wrong... Is no problem here... as if...
I didnt say there would be less people there did i? I said its been around for 9 months already and it looks nothing like rabao. This is not something you can just take your lvl 10 mule with 0 fishing skill to do. An ebisu rod is no easy task, evidenced by your whining about it here, else you would be doing it yourself? Heaven forbid a craft actually make gil. SE set the price of the fish, you dont think they knew what they were doing?
I don't see why you think this means there will be inflation either. Gil has to come from somewhere.
edit: 19 people in bcd on valefor at the moment, 4 of them are camping that nm. So 15 ebisu perhaps sans a guy running to feiyin or something. That doesn't sound anything close to an ebisu every 3 days. There should be almost 100 ebisu's out there if your doomsday predictions are correct.

As someone else said Gil means almost nothing now-a-days all the good gear is quested/dropped and R/E. you can buy "ok" alternatives but the difference between the "ok" gear and the good gear is noticeable even in abyssea were we're all in demi-god mode.
Just checked IGE which from what I knew used to be one of the biggest gil selling sites (could be wrong, don't care tbh) and they don't even offer FFXI Gil anymore. Because it likely isn't worth selling anymore for them.
In 3 hours of EXPing in a PUG Abyssea group you'll usually make 100k Cruor which converts to 250k+ Gil. You just made gil while EXPing instead of having to choose between farming or EXPing.
In a Cruor Burn Party you should be making 100-200k Cruor an hour or 250-500k+ Gil...
Now you have everyone making loads of Gil to spend on all that cool stuff. But wait! The cool stuff is all quested or R/E now... So at best you can buy those by finding a merc group. But remember almost all the good stuff isn't buy-able anymore so there aren't many merc groups as they don't need loads of gil (relic/mythic makers aside).
So realistically the only thing you're left with that is still bought is food/consumables... Remember that "demi-god" mode well that also leads a lot of players to believe they don't need these often if at all for most of the things they're doing. Thus preventing the inflation due to the demand not being high enough to support a severe cost raise.
At first I thought this topic was interesting, but now I'm bored.
