Wait wait wait, you guys aren't annoyed by people wanting a skip CS option, you're annoyed by the fact that not everyone plays this game for the lolstory.

If you want to play an RPG go play one.
There's a lot more to MMO's than the story, and last I checked there wasn't a requirement on the game's box that said
"Must watch cutscenes or gtfo"

I like FFXI for a lot of reasons. The story isn't one of them. If I want to read literature, trust me it won't be the 1st grader content this game offers.[...]

It's so sad to realize that you definitely failed to understand what a RPG is, or a MMORPG which is the extention of the RPG concept.

Games that emphasize plot and character interaction over game mechanics and combat sometimes prefer the name storytelling game.

Personally, I'm glad that the level caps and restrictions for old content have been lifted so I can bring my girlfriend along, she can enjoy the story and we don't have to deal with power gamers who just want rewards getting pissy that FFXI isn't a day job for us.

Can't be done due to technical limitations, not due to validity of request. Dev wouldn't have even responded to thread if it wasn't an already somewhat popular request.

Also FF titles are for the most part RPG. FFXI-FFXIV are MMO's.
Not everyone who plays an MMO is in it for the story. In fact, the majority of MMO players are in it for the PvP and social interaction, something which is as far away from story mode as possible as it involves less solo gameplay and more social interaction with other players.

- Create a social Linkshell.
- Get your members do Ballista.

*** Call that social Linkshell "Storyline Haters" for that matter. As a matter of fact, I'm sure your LS will be as popular as Ballista.

It was absolutely horrible. I actually got some of my ls mates to logon and do some cop cs and missions for me while I was at school haha.

More that I think about it, more I think that this sounds like those people who complain incessantly about the DMV, when you only have to spend about an hour and a half there every 2 years.
