That's kind of the point though. We're not even talking about the game anymore. We're talking about just paying for the game--or no longer paying for the game.

It's just weird. People don't just disagree about how the game should and should not be--they do battle over it. "This job is too powerful!" "That job is not powerful enough!" "Give us more Abyssea!!" "No more Abyssea please!!" "Thx for the Jeanvirgaud adjustment!!!" "Leave Jeanvirgaud alone!!!" People argue about this game with such fervor that it's almost like a religion--or conflicting religions.

And yet never before has the playerbase been as unified as it is now. Are there those who, how shall I say, defend those who take advantage of them? Of course there are; there always will be people like that; it's a calculated gambit. At a glance, I'm saying they're a minority. Most aren't just saying they're upset; they're putting it all on the line--demanding more payment options or quitting for good. That kind of ultimatum has been said at game adjustments from minor to overhaul; some are just empty threats, and yet here we are at consolidated servers. Now we're talking giving our credit card information to BBB "F" rated companies, being overcharged, and paying 3rd parties fees just for paying for the game, while Japanese customers are put through no such trials. There's no precedent to say what's going to happen.

The OP and I have not seen eye-to-eye on discussions about the game itself, yet we've both made threads about where this is going. Just give us more payment options, so we can all put this ugly incident behind us, so we can go back to hating each other again. I find all this agreement extremely disagreeable.

Should SE nerf blah blah blah? or does it even matter anymore.

Really shouldn't go by anything the BBB scores. A local buy here pay here lemon car lot were I live was a member and had a B from them. Thats after he been fined for using saw dust and banana peels to quiet valve tapping and transmission slipping.

Not saying C&B might not be a steaming pile but so is the BBB. Right now though would be a good time to pull a wag the dog.

BBB doesn't mean a company is perfect. BUt it does mean they do well considering how much business they do, as opposed to a successful fraud.

Even without BBB, there's negative reviews out there of both companies SE has as bed-mates.

Frankly, I don't see how FFXI can survive without the current payment plans undergoing significant modification to what they have planned.

On topic, I see the OP's point. The sooner we see an announcement about payments, the sooner we can start killing each other about the game itself. But in a way, talking about whatever wine and circuses they have planned merely diverts us from what and how we must pay for such festivities.

SE doesn't really know how to shift publicity.

Ask a President of the United States, you need to do something GOOD after doing something bad.

Then the bad thing practically goes away.

Outside of BBB being crap that if your a member and pay thier fees the rating matters very little I don't have any right to complain. Its only a 5 cent increase for me and in my postion still dollar for dollar the best entertainment option I have even if I didn't have the 2 mules.
