    [Square Enix Account] Why should I change my payment method?

    I'm not using Click & Buy. It's a scam and a rip-off. So is buying your Crysta.

    So, explain to me, as a user of your services, what's wrong with the current method where you do what you're supposed to and take payments for your services from my credit card?

    Yeah.

    I'm assuming it's a work-load off of SqEX since we now are forced into using the services of 3rd party companies (in some cases 2 of them for the price of one, UltimatePay + PayPal if you want to use PayPal).
    And that may or may not mean that I will have to pay extra fees, that's just great.

    I don't know exactly if it is much off of SqEX though, I don't know the details of how the current system works.

    I do know, however, that I too will not use ClickandBye, so I have to try UltimatePay + PayPal + Crysta and this is really making me more and more frustrated the more I think about...


    So that said, I'll go take a stroll in Vana'diel, right now, perhaps for the last time. :\

    SE decided it isn't how they wish to conduct business, like all customers you can choose the new terms or not. They have no need to explain themselves to you.

    They have every need to explain themselves to their customers. It would be stupid to ignore them.

    Yes they do, just like any other business or company that we contract with and pay money for to provide a service would have to.

    The playerbase wasn't asked it's opinion on how it would like to see any billing changes made, it was just done because they could. Ok, so that's not even the issue here. The issue is that people are not being given the option to pay with their credit/debit cards and people are understandably upset about it, SE should explain why they can't continue to accept payment in the manner that has worked for years or at least make it one of the options.

    No other business on this planet would be allowed to conduct business in this manner. If your bank suddenly decided not to honor payments you made either by check or bank debit/credit card or your CC Company decided not to process any payments you made for goods and services contracted for and received, but instead wanted you to open an account through a 3rd party to buy XYZ funny money to process such, you would certainly be asking for an explanation.

    And, when, at the beginning of August or September, you are are unable to access your FFXI account because even though you did everything perfectly, your payment doesn't process, you will be asking why.

    Sure, people can make the choice to go with the flow or not, but let's be honest, SE is making everyone jump through unecessary hoops here.

    SE provide a monthly service, the only right you have is to cancel if should they change the terms and conditions, their only liability is to give you at least a month's notice, YOU HAVE NO RIGHTS OTHER THAN THAT and SE have no requirement at all to explain their business decisions to you.
