[S] Weapons

I remember a time of excitement when pondering the release of the weapons which would perform WS's of your hero's of the past. Obviously relic's were relic's so let's cross that off.

3 Weapons were introduced into the Medal of Altana category. A staff and two swords, all which could only be used in campaign.

It may sound silly to some, but maybe SE can make a progression through the Magians trials having to do quests/kill new NM's in past zones, to slowly unlock a new type of weapon which has said WS's which we've seen from the past. I know they are trying to revamp old content, and it got people to campaign again. Maybe a trial progression of trading 100k notes > 250 > 500 for final weapon which unlocks your WS. The ways to do this are endless, but I know there are a couple other WS's that we never got to use from Campaign bosses that can be used. Maybe this can solve the jobs where Emp weapons are a joke considering? Maybe the new DRK WS can come from this that will give him a chance in abyssea even as we are moving slowly away from it?

One of the WS's, iirc, did more damage depending on how many enemies were around you.

PLD can get Aeolian Edge from sub, I see them cleaving with it all the time. >_>

Can't use a shield with Staff, and therefore you can't make use of the TP gain from Shield Mastery III.

Should be the 100k to get the base weapon @75. Then a series of magian trials to raise it to 80>85>90. Have the weaponskill unlocked @85 like empy's. Would be a kind move to people who had invested in the weapons, and also allow casual players to make a decent piece. Not empy strength, but a respectable option with a unique WS.

Even if they made a quest similar to the Mythic WS Quest in order to unlock some of those skills naturally. I still like the idea of past weapons coming about. Made no sense to me to have it work only in campaign, and from what i've seen, it works very well, least one of them does. I've seen the AoE > Snarl onto pet move with a whole group, now if only to do that outside of an instanced battle.

I'd still love to see a unique weapon and see the WS a rise above the Best "old WS's" while still being below empy's

I was just thinking about this the other day when I went to play with Griffinclaw in campaign. The AoE flash effect was insane, very fun messing around with it, especially since 90cap made mobs more manageable. I could hold the attention of 10+ mobs with this weaponskill XD

Outside of campaign this would be really fun to play with as well. I would love seeing these weapons become up-gradable!

There are many cool npc only ws that would be cool to learn D: Leonine Legflail(<3), Scouring bubbles, Warden of terror, and the list goes on and on...
