No. They mean another defensive spell / job ability, perhaps something to do with Parry, or another migawari type spell for example. (Well thats what I am assuming).

NIN has ways of controlling enemy TP, yet it is lacking a bit of store TP. Due to having to tank on NIN most of the time, you lose some valuable downtime when casting Utsu / Migawari / Debuffs / Proc spells. Store TP will help negate this downtime a little so you can keep your aftermath up.

Most jobs with a useful Empyrean WS can full-time their aftermath, whereas a NIN can sometimes struggle due to the downtime of casting spells. I see a Store TP spell useful in this case.

Yes some jobs are becoming more useless. Like lets face it, RNG is a dying breed. It's a shame, but it's true. In order to revive some jobs they would have to do a rollback to lvl 75 and rework Abyssea. That or rework the whole job, potentially changing everything fun about it. Sad story but it's true, and unfortunately no small job adjustment will change that.

The difficulty with having so many different job choices is making them different enough, without overpowering each other. Hybrid jobs such as PUP, SCH (and now RDM) etc is as the level cap increases, the difference between Specialist and Hybrid jobs are increasing. Therefore making hybrid jobs semi-useless. Who would want an enfeeble, semi-healer, decent buffer, average nuker (RDM or SCH) vs. a decent enfeeble, amazing healer, amazing buffer (WHM) to keep you alive? I would personally go for the specialist.

Lastly, PLD is not a lolPLD. At least not the good ones. (I am far from good. My PLD is lvl 25). Especially with SE's new focus on Voidwatch. I wouldnt want any other job to tank some of the T3-T4's we have fought so far. An Ochain PLD who knows how to play their job (yes there are some stupid ochain PLD's out there) is amazing.

I never liked specializing myself and feel hybrids are better and allow more flexibility than specializing if something unexpected happens. Also in smaller groups that I've been in specializers had more of target on there head then anybody else. I mean consider the average NM on missions and quests where they are multiple mobs, most strategies center around killing the WHM or BLM first if there any around and from what I seen mobs tend to mimic similar behaviours especially in modes like Campaign and Besieged but that is my preference. In terms of HNM, Dynamis, etc (stuff I never do) might make more sense to specialize but in small groups and normal parties if the group focus on mobs maybe 3-4 levels lower than they usual, the need of specialization seems to be reduced to me. To each his own I suppose but I hate being caught with my proverbial "pants down".
