Moo Ouzi the Swiftblad(e): The Misspelled Yagudo

    Platform: PC
    ISP: Cincinnati Bell Zoomtown
    Type of Internet Connection: DSL
    Internet Connection Speed: 5 mbps
    Date & Time: July 26, 2011
Frequency: Always, since the beginning of WotG
    Character Name: Achika
    Race: Hume F
    World: Quetzacoatl
    Main Job: NIN
    Support Job: WAR
Area and Coordinates: West Sarutabaruta (S), H-6 (Other areas he appears, as well.)
    Party or Solo: Solo
    NPC Name: N/A
Monster Name: Moo Ouzi the Swiftblad
    Steps:
    1. Find a zone where the Yagudo Theomilitary's Divine Disseminators are attacking/defending.
    2. Find Moo Ouzi the Swiftblad.
    3. Look in the chat log, see his name spelled as Moo Ouzi the Swiftblade.
    4. Go to Castle Oztroja (Present)
    5. Spawn Moo Ouzi the Swiftblade.

Essentially, my report is about a typo that's been in the game since the start of WotG and Campaign that I just happened to remember after one of my rare trips to a Windurst Campaign battle. Above the mob, the name is missing the "e" at the end of "Swiftblade." It is spelled properly in the chat log, and the original NM in present day is also spelled properly. It's just the one instance, and it's in every zone he appears in in the Crystal War era.

Odds are this is not a bug. FFXI was designed for Japanese first, and long names like that probably run right up to the character limit. Japanese has a lot more characters, and so names can be condensed more than in English.

    Greetings, Paksenarrion!
Thank you for posting your concerns about Moo Ouzi. I can see how the spelling of the name does seem strange, so I have made sure to submit this to the development team, and they will make sure to thoroughly review this matter. I recommend checking on www.PlayOnline.com or http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/fo...ersion-Updates for any information regarding the development team's investigation. Thanks again for your report!
