Hi, I have just tried out Collaborator/Accomplice extended range, as promised by the latest version update and can’t see any difference. Is it working as intended? I was hoping not to have to chase after panicking mages anymore. Yet I still have to disengage and come over to mages, so… has it been done already or not yet?
Some random thoughts I had, not worth making separate thread:
While we’re at it, Dancer being now able (among all other job adjustments) to force critical weaponskill every 1.5min (plus 20% damage bonus form AF3+2 head, plus Skillchain bonus) makes me wonder where will Thief end up at the end of lv99 road either as damage dealer, treasure hunter (hello Dipper Yuly, Bounty shot and ‘proc’ system) and hate manipulator (this version update’s “extended range Collaborator/Accomplice” flop). As a side note – usefulness of Rudra’s Storm for Bard still remains very questionable.
Is Thief losing it’s identity by it’s defining traits being given away here and there? Will it still have any meaningful purpose in parties? Will it have any reasonable solo capabilities (can’t even use any bolts with Raider’s Boomerang equipped, Hide doesn’t work against sound detection, can’t SA-TA solo and Sleeping Bolts don’t work on anything meaningful, have to choose between shadows or waltzes)?
I’m a little worried for Thief not to share the attention/usefulness oblivion of Scholar, Dark Knight, Paladin or Red Mage, etc., judging by what we’ve been getting (Despoil being pretty much fail; Dual Wield II – well, at least I don’t have to main hand Thief Knife, it still gets overwritten by /nin tho; +8% Critical Damage – wow…; Conspirator – awesome for when your mages have to meele or people in your party are too cheap to use food, every 5min).
