Why is everything more expensive on the Playonline?

I bought the game on steam and dont have Abyssea yet, so I looked on Playonline

for the 3 expansions are £7.99 each it would cost me £23.97, or I could go Buy th eentire full game again on Steam for £17.99 or if I want to be even more cheap, the Abyssea edition is on Amazon Download for $15.99 which will work out at about £11.

So Just by avoiding Playonline and not buying direct from SE it is over half the price lol, i find this a little silly.

It's because POL is still listing them at the original price...we all had to buy themn at $10 US as they were released. The worst was when they annouced the collection the same time as ASA was coming out...was a bit of a slap in the face when they release the whole collection for a reduced price. At least they did wait about 6 month's before packing in Vision of Abyssea with UC for $5.. but still, not cool. They keep it up and they are going to loose initial ROI with their future add-ons/expansions as the once-bitten-twice-shy people simply hold out for the next collection release to save money.

Steam is completely unrelated to POL. Like comparing the price of a game on Steam and at retail stores.

Yes I am referring to Portal 2... It was $50 on Steam... and $20 at Walmart, GameStop, etc. And no Valve did not lower the price.

Normal practice for a software publisher, if they sold below the 'recommended' price then their resellers would complain.

Let's face it, marketing is 95% a scam, the 'recommended' price rarely applies unless the publisher is the only source you can buy from, as it was originally with Abyssea.

And to RAIST: a few will hold out, but SE like all other MMO publishers know full well, only a handful will choose to delay their next fix of new content merely to save pocket change, no matter how 'principled' they [the players] would like to think themselves.
